WHY?

What i want to know is I have been very strict on my diet for going on 4 weeks. (It has actually been longer than that) But I have been really keeping track for 4 weeks. I have lost 1 pound and that is it.  Why is that? I have been struggling with these extra pounds for almost 2 years and it is starting to get very frustrating. We are going on vacation next weekend and I thought I could have lost this by now.  Its just not happening. Im just trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know. UGHH!! I am so frustrated it is not even funny!! I have worked so hard to get this far and now I can’t get this last bit off to make it to my goal!!!  Sorry to vent but I just feel like screaming right now!!!

There are many different reasons your body is not losing pounds. If you are training with weights you are gainging muscle. Your body could be trying to adapt to your new life style and you will find it just starts coming off one day. If you are under alot of stress. There are lots of reasons but if you continue to find you are not seeing results change up your work outs if you are working out. I found that to be a big difference adding 15 mins of cardio to my already 30 mins a day. Good luck

are you working out? if so what are you doing? i think i said before how close you are to your goal and unfortunatly what i learned from my sister in law (she’s a personal trainer and nutritionist) is that the more weight you have to lose the easier it comes off. so the closer you get to your goal is when you really struggle. you may need to change it up to really shock your body again. let me know how it’s going! i’ll help in any way that i can.

Thank you for your comments. I do exercise daily. 5-6 days a week. I walk at a fast pace anywhere from 2 - 5 miles a day. Depending on what I have done that day or how much time i have.  Its a hard walk too.  I may have to add a lap or two a week.   I figured getting close to my goal might start to get a little easier but I have just stopped. So now basically I am at a stand still.

    Thanks

The trainer that I met with yesterday told me that when you hit a plateau, you have to increase your calories a bit to give your muscles more fuel and then you have to really pump up your workouts. Push yourself even harder and make it really count. You can do this, Tanis!!

As well as watching your calories, see how many of them are fat calories. That can make a big difference too. Good luck!

It’s always hard to lose weight when there isn’t much to lose, it’s much easier for those of us that are carrying more weight, but don’t give up…you’ll get there. Reaching a plateau is always distressing but it’s not impossible to get over it…keep up the good work and make sure you are not retaining water (cut out wheat/gluten & drink plenty) GOOD LUCK.
